so think before you print!
Short Cuts on this webpage: Cora's Advice | COCC AnnouncementGoPrint Instructions

Cora's Advice:  Hum 211 course materials are freely accessible online for reading and review.  You need not make copies of everything!  Be selective.  You probably will want copies of some of key materials for personal use and home reference.  An alternative to printing hard copies of web page material, however, is to create electronic copies:  copy webpage text you need, paste it into a word processing document, and save it to disk for future reference (or save to hard drive of your home computer if you have one).

COCC ANNOUNCEMENT posted January, 2002

Help Stop Paper Waste! It is not our goal to make money, but to stop wasting paper.

Beginning Monday, January 21, 2002, COCC has instituted a "Pay to Print" fee. Cost is 5˘ for a black and white copy.

Payment by debit card only. (The debit card feature is built into the new student IDs, beginning Monday, January 14, 2002).

Credit students who go to the Information Office in the Boyle Education Center to have their Student ID replaced will receive $2 coded onto their new card, at no cost.

Non-credit students and community members who use the COCC printing facilities may purchase a print card from the vending machine located in the Library printer/copier room to the right of the reference desk area.

Students who do not wish to get a new Student ID can purchase a print card from the Library vending machine just as a community member would.

The Library vending machine may also be used to add funds to a print card or student ID card.

There will be no charge when printing information from the COCC Library card catalog.

There is no charge when printing in computer classrooms. Because of this we will not open the doors to classrooms until 10 minutes before a class is scheduled to start. Other classroom printing issues and staff printing from the computers in the Library and and Pioneer labs will be addressed at a later date.

For more information contact Marcia McCullough, 383-7719.

How to Use the GoPrint PayStation

1. Click your workstation ID button on the screen to view your print jobs.

2. Select the jobs to print by clicking the appropriate print job description button. Or you can leave nothing selected if you want all the print jobs. Continue by clicking the GoPrint button.

3. Insert your debit card into the card reader, which reconfirms the print job and the cost, then debits the card for the correct amount to pay for the print job. The print job is then sent to the designated network printer where it is printed.

NOTE: If a user's card does not have sufficient credit to print the job, the monitor will show a message advising the user of the amount still due. The system will hold the print job in the queue for 2 hours or until the user returns with a revalued card.  To revalue a card a user must go the “Print / Copy” room located in the patron area of the Library and use the vending machine to add funds to their card.  The vending machine only excepts $1 or $5 bills.  When the user returns to the “Print Release Station” it  will then debit the remaining balance due and release the job for printing.

The system continuously scans the network for new print jobs and constantly refreshes the screen display.
