Course Preparation/Participation Credits [PC] - "PC" points awarded based on thoughtful work completion skill-building assignments & participation in class activities (e.g. Exercises, Preliminary Drafts & required copies, Workshop participation, Writer’s Profiles.  Late/"Make-Up" of "PC" assignments/activities may be permitted by arrangement with Cora.

Comparative Essay (Argument Aims & Methods) - letter graded.  Revision Option will be offered if turned in on time.  Late papers will be penalized 1/2 letter grade.

Formal Academic Summary & Critical Response Essay  - letter graded.  Revision Option will be offered if turned in on time.  Late papers will be penalized 1/2 letter grade.

(1) *20% = Work Completion Percentage (Points earned/Points possible) for Exercises #9, 10, 11, 12, Detailed Plan/Outline & Workshops
- i.e. all relevant prep for Argument Essay using at least 3 Sources.

(2) 20% = Argument Essay (using at least 3 Sources) to Convince, Persuade, or Mediate – letter graded.  Revision Option will be offered if turned in on time.  Late papers will be penalized 1/2 letter grade. (See Revised WR 122 Course Plan Wks #9-Finals - handout)


IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
REVISIONS to Week #11 & Finals Week Assignments Due & In-Class Activities Planned are necessary because of
Cora's illness on Tues., Nov. 29 & Class cancellation on Thurs. Dec. 1 (Snow Day) - see below.

At our WR 122 FINAL MEETING:
MONDAY, DEC. 5, 10:15 A.M. in PIONEER 111

Assignments DUE at the FINAL MEETING:
(1) DEADLINE for all permitted late/make-up "PC" work and for Required/Optional Revisions (which must be submitted with Cora’s evaluation & annotated original final draft attached or they will NOT be considered for re-grading) on Comparative Essay (#1) and Formal Academic Summary + Critical Response Essay.  NOTE:  If you received a grade of "INC"/Revision Required on your Comparative Essay (#1) and/or Formal Academic Summary + Critical Response Essay; AND you do not submit Required Revision/s by today (i.e. Mon., Dec. 5, at 10:15 a.m., PIO 111), temporary "INC" grades will be converted into assignment grades of "F."
NOTE:  FINAL PEER REVIEW (10% of course grade) originally planned to begin in Week #11 & to be due at our Final has had to be scrapped because we could not meet during Week #11.   What we will do instead to determine the remaining 10% of your course grade will be addressed in-class at our FINAL meeting.

IN-CLASS at the FINAL MEETING:
1.  Return & Discuss graded Argument Essays using at least 3 Sources, Directions for required & optional Revisions (if allowed). 
Most of Class time at our Final meeting (i.e. Mon., Dec. 5, 10:15-12:15, PIO 111) will be reserved for
conferences with Cora as needed to discuss Required/Optional Revisions of Research-Based Argument Essays using at least 3 Sources.
2.  Distribute & Review updated Micrograde Status Reports. 
3.  Substitutions for the FINAL PEER REVIEW:

  • Self-Assessment Survey (based on WR 122 Student Learning Outcomes & Research-Based Argument Essay using 3 sources) - worth 5%

  • Course Preparation/Participation (P.C.) record earned this term - worth 5%

DUE: On or before 12 noon, Thurs., DEC. 8, Cora's mailbox,
Humanities Dept. Office, 2nd floor Modoc:
DUE: Required/Optional Revisions of Research-Based Argument Essay (using 3 sources),
to which original Final draft containing Cora's commentary and Cora's Evaluation Checklist must be attached
OR Revisions will NOT be considered for re-grading.
