Revised Literary Analysis Papers will be re-graded only if original graded version is attached to revision!
Late Literary Analysis Papers will be penalized at least 1/2 letter grade.

Response Writing #2 (Hemingway, Toomer, and/or Faulkner)
Only one (1) missed In-Class Response Writing may be "made up" by arrangement with the instructor.  Any additional missed In-Class Response Writings will receive a "O" [i.e. a grade of "F"].
Prep. for Response Writing #2 (due Wed., 11/13): Comparison/Contrast
1.  Choose & reread two works we have studied through Week #7 - and one of the two works must be by Hemingway, or Faulkner, or Toomer;
2.  Focus on one of the Elements of Fiction presented in Charters' Appendix 3--e.g. selected elements of plot, character, setting, point of view, style and voice, symbolism, or theme;
3.  Compare/Contrast that chosen Element of Fiction in your two selected works, and identify one or two similarities and/or differences that seem significant to you;
4.  Identify specific passages in the literary works that best illustrate and support one or two significant similarities and/or differences you've identified.
5.  Come to class prepared on Wed., 11/13 - e.g. bring text/s (i.e. Charters) and your notes!!

Final Project Paper - Topic Proposal; Worksheet or Detailed Outline

Response Writing #3 may be completed at home and turned in on or before our Final Exam Meeting, OR it may be completed in class during our Final Exam Meeting.  NOTE WELL: No Late Response Writing #3 surveys will be accepted after our Dec. 12, 2002 Final.
