In my view, literature has a multi-faceted job. It is here to please us, to take us on journeys beyond our everyday lives, it is here to teach us about ourselves, it is here to teach us about other lands, it is here to teach us about other cultures, and it is here to stay. There are not enough hours in the day, or days in the week, or years in our lifetime to allow us to explore the endless visions literature has to offer. My visions of literature are varied and I am sure they will continue to become even more varied as my time in this life continues.
