Now that you know the logic behind keyword searching, I REALLY want you to spend some time practicing some of the techniques you just learned about.  Be sure to take the time to use the links below before you complete your next assignment!  It takes time and practice to understand and develop comfort using the different search techniques....

a. check the Boolean tutorials from Colorado State University, http://lib.colostate.edu/tutorials/boolean_info.html and Louisiana State University, http://www.lib.lsu.edu/ref/flash/Boolean.html. They really do not take too much time!

b.  here is another library web page (Loyola University, Chicago) with quick online exercises: http://libraries.luc.edu/seminar/0506/Search08.shtml. Use the link " Click to begin the search query exercise" under the door icon to start!   You will then be asked to select key terms and connectors by dragging the imaginary "magnets" on the imaginary "fridge"… kind of fun! (click on the "check answer" button to receive feedback on your search queries).

c. for those that might have missed it ... there are two additional exercises for you to practice with, linked right at the bottom of our course page, Improving Keyword searches.
