1.
a. Using LexisNexis, "General Searching," "Power Search," look for news articles on the topic of West Nile Virus in transplants  published within the last 2 years. Search within the category "Major World Publications." 

   b. After you do the search above, select from the left panel the category "Newspapers".

   c. Click on "New York Times".  What's the title of the newspaper article?   When was it published?

 2. Go back to the initial search screen in LexisNexis (click on "LexisNexis Academic" on the top left) and click on the "News" tab.

   a. Select the news category TV & Radio Transcripts.

   b. Search for news transcripts about Barack Obama's response to recent events in Egypt.

   c. Select ABC News Transcripts

   d. Limit your results within the last week

3.  Go back to the initial search screen in Lexis Nexis (click on "LexisNexis Academic" on the top left) and click on the "Companies" link.  Do a "Company Profiles" search for Nike.  Make sure you use the drop down box next to the search box  to select "Company name" for your search. Also, limit to "Previous 2 years" and then, under "Select Sources on the search panel, limit to "U.S. Company Reports."

   a.  Check the Hoover's Company Records for the company. How many employees does the company have?

    b.  What is the age and salary of the Chairman/President of the company?

4. Go back to the initial search screen in Lexis Nexis and click on the "US Legal" link. Look under "Landmark Cases".

    a. How are your results broken down on the panel to the right?  

    b. browse the collection of Landmark Cases and click on one that you may be familiar with or interested in to see how it is recorded.
