         Using print Reference sources to find the answers

Go to the  Reference book collection of the COCC Library (first floor, next to information desk):

1.  Under what Library of Congress letters would you locate an encyclopedia for the topic “effects of divorce on children?   Locate the encyclopedia and find an article on this subject.

2.  Find a reference source that will give you background/summary information on the "Afghanistan invasion of 1979-89."

3.   In what reference book would you look to find a brief description of “magnetic therapy”?   Find the information.

4.  Where can you find the most recent reference background information on "wind energy"?

5.  You want to find background information on the "Hippies movement."  Which reference book would you use?   Locate the information.  

6.  You are looking for historical information on the topic “women in the military”.  Which reference book would give you this information?   Locate the article.

7.  Where can you find background information on “acupuncture”?  Locate the information in one of the reference books.

8  Use the reference collection to get an overview of the issue of "police brutality."  Which book did you use?

9.  In the reference collection find an article on the relationship of "intelligence and crime."  Where did you find the article?

10.  Where in the reference collection can you find a biographical article on Beethoven?

11.  Find a reference source on the DNA structure.

12.  Where in the reference  collection can you find basic information on the endangered species of Coho Salmon?
