1. You are doing a Google search on echinacea and want to exclude commercial sites from your results. What is your search?
2. Look at your results from the search above. If you click on the link "Cached" you will see highlighted where your search terms were found. Go ahead and try it for one of the results!
Besides seeing your search words highlighted, do you know when the "Cached" feature in Google comes in handy?
3. Search snake grass.
Next, search grass snake.
Compare the two searches? What made a difference?
Now do another search by typing in: "snake in the grass"

4. Find a picture of Taj Mahal using Google "Images."
5. Back to basic Google searching...
Search fossil.
Now search fossil -watch (note: leave no space between the minus sign, - , and the word watch)

Next, click on "Advanced Search." Where would you type in the keyword terms you want to exclude from your results?
6. Stay in Google Advanced Search.

7. Finally, let's try some other tools for web searching... You are doing research on poverty. Instead of Google, what web tools could you use to find the most "credible" information over the free web?
