COURSE
DESCRIPTION: An introduction to Object Oriented Programming with Java.
Homework will require use of computers outside of class time, for some students this time will be extensive. Typing skills are helpful, as are college-level reading and writing skills.
TEXTS: Objects First With Java, David Barnes and Michael Kölling
ATTENDANCE: Important material will be covered every class period. Pop quizzes may be given and may not be made up.
GRADING: Grades will be based on a wide variety of lab assignments, on possible quizzes, a midterm, and a final examination. The assignments are the exercises in the text. The final exam is comprehensive. Exams may only be made up with prior arrangements with instructor. Late homework will be marked down unless prior arrangements are made with instructor.

All students are expected to practice the highest standards of academic honesty. Cheating on exams or plagiarizing other people's work is unacceptable and may lead to a failing grade.
