Steps to Install Mozilla and how to configure its' mail program for COCC mail.

1) Browse to the mozilla.org download page. Click the Windows, English download link (or Mac if you have a Macintosh). These directions are for Windows.

2) You should get the Welcome to Mozilla screen below, click Next.

3) You should get the Software License Agreement, click Accept.

4) You should get the Setup Type screen, make sure Complete is selected and click Next.

If on the prior screen you wanted to change the Destination Directory from its' default value, you can click browse and using the screen below you can select a different directory.

5) After selecting your Setup type and directory, you can choose to activate Quick Launch. If you think you have plenty of memory (more than 256K) on your computer select this option.

6) The final screen displays your settings, to continue the installation, click Install.

7) After installing you should see the Mozilla window open on your screen. You may be asked if you want to make Mozilla your default browser. If you would prefer to keep your current browser the default click No, otherwise, click Yes.

The Mozilla screen should display the Welcome screen at mozilla.org.

Configuring Mozilla Mail to read COCC mail

7) Open the Mail & Newsgroups option under the Windows menu

8) If you have just installed Mozilla, you have no mail accounts. The New Account Setup screen should automatically appear. It should have the Email Account selected, click Next.

9) The account identity screen should appear. Enter your full name and your email address, click Next.

10) You should now see the Server information screen. Here you should select IMAP for COCC. You also need to enter the COCC server names. You can find this information here. Your screen should look something like the one below. Click Next when ready.

11) The user names window should appear. Enter your user id at COCC (the first part of your email address). Click Next.

12) The next screen is what you want to call this account. This is simply a  descriptive name. Something like COCC Mail works. Click Next.

13) Finally the last screen is displayed showing your settings. If it all looks good, click Finish.

14) Two final screens you may see. If you are asked if you want to make Mozilla Mail your default mail program, select NO unless you really do want to use it for you primary mail program. The other screen is your password, enter the password for your COCC network login, that is your email password at COCC.

You should now be ready to send and receive email with Mozilla.
