COURSE
DESCRIPTION:
The introduction to Visual Basic continues...

Computer labs will require use of microcomputers outside of class time, for some students this time will be extensive. CIS 133VB (or prior VB programming experience, ask instructor) required.
TEXT: An Introduction to Programming Using Visual Basic 6 by David Schneider
ATTENDANCE: Important material will be covered every class period. Pop quizzes may be given and may not be made up.
GRADING: Grades will be based on a wide variety of lab assignments, on possible quizzes, midterm and a final examination. The assignments will be programs. The final exam is comprehensive.

OBJECTIVES:
  • Practice structured programming
  • Learn/Practice the basic concepts of object oriented programming
  • Practice the fundamental concepts of clear programming style
  • Learn additional VB GUI controls
  • Learn additional file I/O
  • Practice problem solving and designing solutions to programming problems
  • Learn basic database controls
  • Learn to explore and use additional library objects
