| DESCRIPTION: | An introduction to programming practices. This course discusses correct programming practices with an exploration of object oriented programming with Java. Designing, coding, testing, and documenting programs are practiced. |

| Computer labs will require use of microcomputers outside of class time, for some students this time will be extensive. Typing skills are helpful, as are college-level reading and writing skills. |

| GRADING: | Grades will be based on a wide variety of lab assignments, on possible quizzes, a journal, midterm and a final examination. The assignments will be programs. The final exam is comprehensive. | ||||||||||||||||||||
