This type of logging truck has a knuckleboom loader built on to its frame. Consequently it does not have to wait for a conventional loader to fill it with logs. However, since it must load itself, it is slower to complete its load than a conventional logging truck.

This type of truck is best suited for units with small volumes, a few truck loads, where bringing in a conventional loader would not be economical.
