After felling the tree, the logger bucks the tree into logs.here is an old-growth Douglas -fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) being cut into sawlogs. A sawlog is usually a 16 footer. However, whenever possible, the logger will cut a double or 32 footer, plus trim. These long logs are desireable as bunk logs for hauling.
