COCC INFORMATION LITERACY COMPETENCY EXAM

Note: as faculty you need to be "registered" in my Blackboard course in order to see this exam.  If you are not able to access, please contact me at cfinney@cocc.edu.

1) Go to Blackboard at http://blackboard.ad.cocc.edu
 
2) Log in.  Default login is this model:
 
User Name: mmouse     Password:  mick4mouse  {first four letters of  first name-4-last name}
 
3) Click on the course name LIB127-11401_WI04: LIB127-11401_WI04:Information Research Skills. (Make sure you click on this and NOT the Spring term version of the exam if you are an instructor sampling the test.)
 
4) Look at the left hand menu and click on "Course Documents".
 
5) Click on Information Competency 2004
 
Most faculty should already be registered as "students" for the exam. 

 

PROPOSED PROCESS FOR TAKING EXAM

1) Students would self select to take the exam.
2) Exam is offered at certain times in the tutoring/testing center
3) Students sign up for the exam (and pay?)
4) When students sign up, the Testing Center person will "enroll" them in a Blackboard 'course' for the Info. Lit. exam.
5) Students come to the testing center, and log in to Blackboard.  Testing center personel will password them into the exam.
6) Students take exam.  The score is immediately registered and communicated to the student (Blackboard does this).
7) Exam score is somehow transferred to the student's transcript (still working this out).
