FINDING YOUR ARTICLES

Searching EBSCO databases--the basics.

-Academic Search Premier: a large multi-disciplinary database
hint: use "refine search" to limit results to peer-reviewed journals

-ArticleFirst: a large multi-disciplinary database (not from EBSCO)
hint: this is not a full-text database, meaning you will find only citations in this database rather than the entire article

OSU has many more anthropology databases but you must be in the library to access them.  These databases are not from EBSCO--please ask the reference librarian if you need help with searching.

-America: History and Life: this database includes citations for articles written about American history and culture--includes Canada too!

-Historical Abstracts: this database includes citations for articles about world history except U.S. & Canada.

-Anthropological Literature:  this database includes citations for articles written about anthropology and archaeology, some dating back to the 19th century.

-HRAF Ethnology Collection: this is a full-text collection of materials gathered about 78 different cultures around the world--worth checking to see if your topic is included!
