All students taking credit classes must take the ASSET placement assessment prior to registration in order to assess their current abilities in reading, writing and math. This information will help students choose the most appropriate courses for their skill level. Students are exempt from taking the placement test if they:
Have submitted transcripts to COCC from another college showing other writing and/or math courses. Have submitted ASSET test scores from another college to COCC. Note: test must be no more than two years old. Are taking only HD 110 (Career Planning), HD 190 (Latino Leadership), music performance, PE activity, studio art, computer skills or foreign language classes. |
